Core grant

In the last few years, the requirements for the participation of CZZS in various processes have increased. This poses many challenges to our work, as administrative requirements and bureaucracy for our flagship projects have also increased tremendously.

This challenge was recognized by our new donor, The Sigrid Rausing Trust, who offered CZZS an operational grant that would facilitate both the operation and further strategic development of our organization.

The current operating grant covers a period of one year with a possible extension to an additional three or six years. In this regard, we have focused this project on strengthening our internal capacities. Namely, the engaged staff is already overloaded at this moment, and the topics are becoming wider and deeper. Also, current staff is constantly in need of personal development in their areas through training.

In addition to strengthening internal capacities, we plan to work harder on strengthening other environmental civil society organizations, initiatives and individuals in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the support of this grant, we will improve our program, strengthen our legal team and our internal and external communication, support the re-establishment of the Our Space program and establishment of the new Waste program. In the end, with the possible long-term support of Sigrid, we will look for a long-term solution for our office space.
