Zelena akcija (FoE Croatia), in cooperation with the Center for the Environment, CK13 Novi Sad, and Zero Waste Montenegro, is organizing the youth exchange “School of Sustainability” in Selce, on the Adriatic coast, from May 2 to 8, 2025.
The main goal of the project “The Story of the 1.5°C Limit – Solutions and Storytelling of Youth from the Western Balkans” is to build the capacities of young people and organizations working with youth from the Western Balkan region, to understand and advocate for solutions to the ecological crisis, using civic education and the arts, especially literature.
Our primary target group is young people and youth with fewer opportunities from the Western Balkans. Our secondary target group is youth workers and organizations working with young people in the region.
The specific objectives of the project are to prepare the two target groups for:
- a deep understanding of climate crises through non-formal/transformative education,
- identifying specific local solutions (with a focus on community-based solutions, zero waste systems, public advocacy methods, civic participation, and the arts), and
- communicating the findings from the activities to the wider public from an artistic perspective – creative writing and climate fiction.

We invite all interested participants to apply for the School of Sustainability by emailing nikola.kurija@czzs.org by April 20, 2025.
