Representatives of the Eko BiH Network associations held a meeting on Monday regarding preparations for the drafting of an Environmental Strategy and Action Plan (ESAP 2030+) and the nomination of its 19 representatives to participate in the Working Groups.
The meeting, which was organized through the Eko BiH project funded by the European Union, was scheduled for March 26th on Mountain Borja, but due to the current situation with the coronavirus, it was postponed until March 30th when it was organized as a video conference. In this way, representatives of the Eko BiH Network drew attention that the meeting can be organized in emergency conditions and from isolation.
The meeting was attended by Sanjin Avdić, Local Coordinator of the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) in charge of coordinating the ESAP 2030+ project, who presented the structure of participation by the following thematic groups:
- Water
- Biodiversity and nature protection
- Chemicals, safety and noise
- Environmental management
- Waste;
- Air quality, climate change and energy
- Natural Resources Management
The nomination of Eko BiH representatives in these working groups will reach the deadline precisely because of an online meeting, whose participants emphasized that this is their first time in the last 15 days to “gather in larger numbers”, which is accompanied by much needed laughter.
