Representatives of the Center for the Environment, Tihomir Dakić, and Dragan Kabić, attended the internal conference of the “Urban Movements” network organized by the Roza Luxemburg Foundation on October 1.

The topics of the conference were the challenges of organizations engaged in advocacy in the field of urban mobility and spatial planning, regarding to the Covid 19 pandemic, as well as the energy crisis and the increase in the cost of living. Also, in addition to panel discussions on these topics, the participants could also hear presentations on the topics of changes in the planning of the Belgrade metro system of public passenger transport, the initiative to ban motorized traffic in the first ring in Berlin – “Berlin Autofrei” (an area of 88 square kilometers surrounded by S-ban system), as well as the experience of advocating for individuals within the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region and the European Transport Workers‘ Federation.

The conference was held in the premises of the Roza Luxemburg Foundation in Brussels, but the conference itself was accompanied by a field study visit to various locations of importance for the mentioned topics in this city.
