Representatives of the Center for Environment held a presentation on Friday, February 16, 2024, for individuals, organizations, and initiatives from the Glamočko Polje interested in the protection and promotion of natural resources, traditional practices, and sustainable development. This call is part of activities carried out through the project “Sustainable Future for the Livanjsko Karst Polje in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” which aims to promote and protect the Livanjsko Polje and other karst poljes in BiH. The Center implements this project in collaboration with the Ornithological Society Naše Ptice and the organization EuroNatur with the support of the DIMFE foundation.

A similar call was held in the previous two years, when organizations from the Duvanjsko and Kupreško Poljes could apply. In the Duvanjsko Polje, the Center for Environment supported two local associations: “Kultura i mladi Tomislavgrad” for the creation of a walking trail, and the “Speleological Society Mijatovi dvori” for the preservation of the Dahna cave. In Kupres, the Center supported the initiative of the Ecological Society Mosor, which plans to tackle the problem of illegal dumps and organized waste collection, as well as the initiative of Dario Batinić, which aims at the resource self-sufficiency of a mobile house through the acquisition of solar panels and a water pump. The call is open until March 10, 2024, and the representatives of the Center used this opportunity to meet potential applicants and clarify any potential doubts. More information about the call, as well as the application documents, are available at THIS link.
