From September 16th to 22nd, 2021, citizens of the European Union, Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries will have the opportunity to participate in the world’s most popular urban mobility event called “European Mobility Week” (EMW).
The Center for Environment from Banja Luka is the national coordinator of this campaign, and on that occasion, together with the Giro di Sarajevo, invites all municipalities and cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the celebration of “European Mobility Week” and “World car-free day”.
Five cities/municipalities have registered for this year’s European Mobility Week: Bijeljina, Zvornik, Vlasenica, Han Pijesak and Banja Luka.
The Center for Environment, as before, will carry out several activities in the area of Banja Luka in the coming days:

In addition, the City of Banja Luka, the OSCE and the EU Info Center also participate in and/or organize a number of other activities.
This year’s EUROPEAN WEEKLY MOBILITY theme, due to the necessary recovery from the pandemic and the growing need to move more sustainable in urban areas, is ” Safe and Healthy with Sustainable Mobility”, while the calls for action motto is “Move sustainably! Stay healthy! ”
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Environment launched in 2002 the “European Mobility Week” campaign, which is organized every year in more than 2,500 cities around the world. The EMW ends on September 22nd with “World car-free day”.
