Transport Program representatives, Center for Environment, Igor Uletilović and Dragan Kabić, participated in the Annual General Meeting of the European Cyclists’ Federation, which was held in Berlin on May 6 and 7.

The meeting was attended by members from over 30 countries, where they were presented with detailed working and financial reports on the work of the network in the previous year, and also discussed the framework, plans and activities for the coming period.

One part of the meeting was related to the presentation and voting for the  board candidates, as well as the admission of new members to the organization. On that occasion, we wish a special welcome to the association Biciklo.me from Podgorica, as a new member of the European Cyclists’ Federation from our region.

“Apart from the formal part of the meeting related to decision-making at the network level, it was very useful to get acquainted with the cycling infrastructure of the city of Berlin, which is one of the cities that expanded the cycling infrastructure network during the initial period of the Covid 19 pandemic, but also get acquainted with the ways of traffic management in this city in general”- said Dragan Kabic, Transport Program Coordinator, Center for Environment.

The event ended with a two-hour bike ride, where participants had the opportunity to learn more about the cycling infrastructure in Berlin, the advantages and disadvantages, as well as future development plans.

The trip to Berlin, for the representatives of the Center for Environment, was enabled through the ClimaSUM project (Climate mitigation through sustainable urban mobility), which the Center, as a partner, is implementing in cooperation with ODRAZ, as the secretariat of the CIVINET network Slovenia-Croatia-Southeast Europe and Transport Research Center from Brno, as the secretariat of the CIVINET network Czech Republic and Slovakia. This project is part of the European Climate Initiative (EUKI).
