At the closing event of the ecological competition and the awarding of prizes to the primary school students, the first phase of the project “Save our rivers, save Vrbas” realized by Vodovod a.d. Banja Luka and Center for the Environment was completed. A total of 17 schools of the Banja Luka region with 137 students’ works and creations and over 280 students has participated in the competition.
“The effort the students put into each of the works showed that we are witnessing the emergence of generations, significantly more conscious of the importance of preserving the environment, especially the resources of high importance, such as water. The concern that can be seen in every student work gives us the hope that the future of our aquatic ecosystems is in the good hands. This fact is especially rejoicing, as it is also a kind of confirmation of the importance of all the activities we have carried out to this day, ” said Marijana Bijelić from Vodovod a.d. Banja Luka.
The works were reviewed, with the help of the jury: Đurđica Bjelošević (academic painter), Milena Urukalo (professor of Serbian language), Aleksandar Škorić (graphic designer) and Zorana Kuzmanović (graduate ecologist) that selected three winner works for each age category.
