The first CLIMASAM conference on urban mobility, held in Sarajevo on March 3rd, 2022, was attended by 34 participants, where representatives of local governments, associations and the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton discussed the topic of improving sustainable urban mobility in their local communities.
The conference was opened by Dragan Kabić, in front of the Center for Environment, introducing the participants to the concept of the project that will be implemented in 2022 and 2023, through one-day and two-day workshops, as well as two summer schools for students. In front of the ODRAZ association from Zagreb, Goran Lampelj approached the Civiet network in more detail, also presenting the possibilities of joining the CIVINET network.
“As the development of SUMP documents is one of the most important topics of the project, we tried to present existing practices through examples of already prepared SUMP documents,” said Dragan Kabić.
Benjamin Osmančević in front of the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton and Ankica Todorović in front of the city of Bijeljina presented SUMP documents of these two cities, from the course of development, through detailed activities, to their implementation.
Tihomir Dakić, in front of the Center for Environment, once again pointed out the importance of citizen participation in the process of drafting the SUMP document, as well as the possibilities of their inclusion.
The critique of the already mentioned SUMP documents in the city of Sarajevo and Bijeljina, as well as possibilities and sources of funding for new documents, were most often discussion topics among participants.
