Objectives and results of the action Objective: To postpone and eventually halt the construction of new thermal power plants (TPPs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina and contribute to the development of an energy system based on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources through advocating for a new energy strategy and better Environmental Impact Assessment processes.

Results:

●      Analysis of compliance with EU Directives for Ugljevik 3 TPP; The Energy Community Treaty Secretariat launched an infringement procedure as a result of the complaint on the project.

●      The Espoo Convention implementation committee opened a discussion regarding our complaint on the Stanari and Ugljevik 3 TPPs.

●      Increased public interest about the negative aspects of new thermal power plants.

●      Legal action against the permit for Ugljevik 3 TPP aiming at its revocation;

●      Health and economic studies of new TPPs’ impacts;

●      Analysis of the Framework Energy Strategy of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

●      Continuous media campaign against harmful energy projects.
