Objectives and results | Objective: The project will help to create connections and relations of the local community, ie. citizens towards these green spaces, which they often use, but often without understanding the importance of the existence and preservation of such spaces near the harvested zone of the city of Banja Luka. The positive change is primarily in the fact that when people feel an emotional connection with a space, they also feel the need to preserve and protect that space. The idea of the project is to point out that connection, but also to show the correct ways of using these spaces, that they can be educational, informative, entertaining, as well as with many benefits for mental and physical health. We want people to understand that they don’t have to go far from their own city to fully experience nature and escape from the fast-paced city life.
Expected results: In the long-term management of this new protected area, informed individuals and individuals will have a key role if the process of declaring protection encounters difficulties, but also if any problems arise in the future in the management of these forest areas. Then we will count on aware fellow citizens as the first line of defense and “guardians” of these areas. Ultimately, the project will contribute to the increase of areas under protected areas in the City of Banja Luka. |
