| Description | Main objective: BioNET – Partnership for Nature project, the main objective is to increase public awareness about biodiversity protection in Southeast Europe. Implementation of the awareness raising campaign will contribute to sensitization of the public. About the project: This project is the public awareness raising campaign that will inform citizens on values and importance of biodiversity protection while providing them with advice and ideas how to jointly contribute to the healthy environment. Besides citizens, campaign targets media as a key channel of communication and sharing information with citizens by supporting the investigative methods of research and media publishing. Campaign targets other relevant Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to use developed materials and examples of the good practice in their own missions outside the network. It will also motivate interested CSOs to express their interest in joining the BioNET or to establish close cooperation and possible joint initiatives with the network and/or its members. Project activities: 1. Identifying campaign topics and development of promotional content/materials The project partners will identify list of themes to be an integral part of the biodiversity conservation campaign. Promotional content/materials will be created in the frame of the three working packages, each focused at one of the identified topics/areas. All packages will be unified to maximise campaign’s promotion and visibility. 2. Celebrating biodiversity In each of the partner countries, green calendar events: World Wetland Day (February 2), Forest day (March 21) Earth Day (April 24), Biodiversity Day (May 22), World Migratory Bird Day (May 9) and World Environment Day (June 5), will be celebrated by organizing field trips to important sites, round table discussions, street performances and using the developed promotional material. 3. Journalists for nature For the purposes of enhancement, the media outreach of the awareness campaign, the project team will engage two professional journalists per each country (6 in total). These journalists will have the responsibility to prepare articles for publishing (one per each journalist, twelve in total) on biodiversity protection. |
