Description | Objective: With the combination of scientific work and advocacy activities we aim for the long-term protection and sustainable management of Neretva tributaries (Buna, Bunica, Bregava and Trebižat) for the benefit of local communities and wider public. Expected results: The project covers several components. The aim of the research component is to collect data about the species (for at least 10 taxonomy groups) present in rivers Buna, Bunica, Bregava and Trebižat combining the field research and already existing data. Those results will be available for relevant institutions, wider public, media, local communities and all other stakeholders. Big focus of the project will be on working with local communities and all stakeholders on raising their awareness on importance of protected areas. Methodology to be used will be a combination of workshops and public events. As our main goal is long-term protection of those rivers an official procedure towards governments will be initiated and draft proposal for sustainable management will be made. |
