Description | The Dabarsko and Fatničko fields are under strong anthropogenic pressure due to the ongoing implementation of the Upper Horizons hydropower cascade which includes three new hydropower plants (Dabar, Bileća and Nevesinje), two news dams (Zalomka and Nevesinje), artificial tunnels and building of channels through the fields. The flora and fauna of Dabarsko and Fatničko fields, and other connected fields are so unknown that some species may become extinct before they are even discovered by science. This project aims to collect data on the flora and fauna in this area with the goal of halting or slowing down the Upper Horizons project. |
