Energy and Climate Change
The main objective of this program is to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, as well as other sustainable energy solutions, as well as other areas that have a significant impact on climate change.
This program was launched after the campaign against the construction of a hydro power plant in the Vrbas canyon, and the fight against harmful hydro power plants is still the main focus of our work. Also, within this program we deal with the fossil fuels. We are particularly focused on the issue of coal-fired power r plants in Bosnia and Herzegovina and their impact on environment, health and economy.
Through this program, we strive to open a dialogue on public policies between competent institutions at state, entity and local level and representatives of civil society, and that in a public dialogue on the energy future much more attention is devoted to sustainable energy solutions.
In addition to working on public policies, we pay close attention to raising public awareness, practical work-through workshops, and various educational activities.
- Promotion of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency
- Monitoring and advocacy in the coal sector with a focus on coal-fired power plants
- Campaign against plans for small hydro power plants and support for campaign against hydropower plants across BiH
